i am very disappointed with the way the city of surrey and the local police have handled this case. i have lived in the heart of whalley for the past 2 years. i am over 45, disabled and female. it sickens me to know that this woman was beaten to death less than 2 blocks from where i reside. many of the homeless in this area are mostly metally ill or physically ill. the province of bc needs to help all of the mentally ill, the sick, the disabled and the elderly. we need SAFE places to go. I certainly hope the political powers that be start to help us instead of adding to our problems. RIP Janice and prayers sent to all women 40 yrs and older.
