Canucks tweak lineup for rematch with Dallas

By

DALLAS, TX (NEWS1130) –  The Canucks will switch up the lineup when they visit Dallas today for their second meeting in a week with the Stars. Dallas was 4-3 winner last Friday at Rogers Arena.

With Jannik Hansen serving a one-game suspension for his hit on Chicago forward Marian Hossa Tuesday night, Zack Kassian will play with Ryan Kesler and Chris Higgins on the second line. On defence, Dan Hamhuis will be reunited with Kevin Bieksa while Chris Tanev gets a promotion to a pairing with Alex Edler with Keith Ballard and Jason Garrison making up the other blue line combination.

Cory Schneider will get tonight’s start in goal with Roberto Luongo expected to play tomorrow when the Canucks visit Nashville in the second of two games in two nights. The Stars are expected to start young Swedish goaltender Christopher Nilstorp in tonight’s game.  Dallas had been playing Richard Bachman in net while starter Kari Lehtonen has been out with a groin strain.

The Canucks will try to end a three-game losing streak. Vancouver has won four of their last five visits to the American Airlines Center.  The Stars were 4-3 losers on home ice to Calgary Sunday in their only game since beating the Canucks here last week.

Daniel Sedin has had great luck against Dallas, putting up two assists against the Stars last week, with five goals and 21 assists in the last 15 overall meetings.

Game time is 5:30 p.m. (Rogers Sportsnet Pacific)
