Staggette turns violent at Yaletown night club

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – A stagette turned violent Saturday night at Bar None nightclub in Yaletown.

A 29-year-old bride-to-be from Mission ended up with cuts to her head and legs in what officers are calling a “bar room brawl”.

In a Facebook post, the woman claims she was attacked by a staff member without provocation. “I had not made eye contact nor spoke one word to her when she grabbed me from behind and threw me across a table and brutally attacked me leaving me with a concussion, cuts and bruises all over my body oh and not to mention the nice stitches across my forehead.”

She says she was then dragged across a table by a staff member.

Vancouver Police will be looking at video to try to figure out how the fight started, and Sgt Randy Fincham says several groups were involved. “Somewhere in the middle, there will be the truth in what happened on the weekend. We do understand with tempers flaring, and with the possible addition of alcohol, this all may have lead to different perceptions of what they believe happened on the weekend.”

Fincham says they have been working with the bar and interviewing staff throughout the weekend and into today.

Bar None says it takes the safety of its patrons seriously.

No charges have been laid and the investigation is ongoing.
