VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – Another 33 people have been charged in the Stanley Cup Riot in Vancouver in June of 2011.
The BC Criminal Justice Branch says the latest accused include 23 adults and 10 young persons, and some of the newest charges were sworn as far back as last October, but are only being revealed now.
In addition, the branch has identified six more people who were charged in June of last year, but whose names were held back until now.
Most of the charges include taking part in a riot, mischief, and break and enter, while some people are also charged with assault and having their faces masked.
So far, charges have been approved against 194 people, and 133 of them have pled guilty, with 65 already having been sentenced.
Crown prosecutors are still reviewing possible charges against more than 100 other suspects.

Don’t worry, they’ll all get a handshake with a promise to behave in the future..
I have twice read that around 32% of arrested Stanley Cup rioters thus far are/were from the city of Surrey. I’m not making this up. I’d love to hear Mayor Watts acknowledge this fact.
Ya But the other 68% were from arsewhere….. when are you people going to stop being arses about Surrey you are like broken records !!! Geez some peole can do nothing but point a finger elsewhere it is lazy and ignorant… Surrey aint that bad
Good, BUT just 194 out of thousands of rioters. And chances of conviction get slimmer by the day.
