LONGUEUIL, Que. – A man charged with attacking his then-girlfriend with acid wants his trial to be held somewhere other than the suburban Montreal courthouse where his case is being heard.
A lawyer for Nikolas Stefanatos says she intends to file a motion asking for the legal proceedings to be moved from Longueuil.
Stefanatos faces three charges — aggravated assault, assault with a weapon and assault causing bodily harm.
His case returns to court on September fourth.
The 27-year-old man has been detained since his arrest following the alleged assault last August.
He is accused of attacking her with a corrosive liquid which police have identified as a concrete cleaner.
He was refused bail last year.
