RICHMOND (NEWS1130) – He first plans to buy a new car, and then take a vacation with his family.  One of the four winners of last week’s record-high Lotto 6/49 jackpot has spoken to the media.

Forty-one year old Chad Seguin of Vancouver is now $15,853,471.30 richer.

“What I did was, I thought I might buy myself a Quick Picks ticket.  So, I bought it on the Saturday afternoon around 4:10 p.m., put it in my back pocket and went out that night.  I checked the ticket around Sunday afternoon on one of those self-checkers.”

His wife didn’t believe him.

“This time it wasn’t a prank, it was true.  At the end of the day there was a gentleman there that actually lent me his cell phone to make the phone call because I wasn’t in my right mind.  Basically he had to get on the phone with my wife to say ‘your husband is a multimillionaire today.'”

“I don’t buy tickets on a regular basis.  I think the one that I bought before this was for a Lotto Max probably about three months ago.”

Seguin is a father of two and says they’re pretty excited.  “They just know that Mommy and Daddy won’t be stressed out about their financial situation anymore.”

He works in sales and says he won’t be going back.

The other two Lower Mainland winners bought tickets in Surrey.  They have yet to claim their share of the $63 million jackpot.  The fourth person is from Alberta.
