MAPLE RIDGE (NEWS1130) – A man has been arrested in Metro Vancouver’s latest brazen shooting.

Sgt. Jennifer Pound of the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team says a 29-year-old has been charged in connection to the shooting death of 26-year-old Claude Deguire.

Pound says with the help of police dogs, officers arrested the man at his home without incident on Friday. “Charged with second-degree murder is Maple Ridge resident Edward Mark Antonsen.”

Deguire was gunned down in the parking lot of a busy shopping centre in Maple Ridge on April 29.

Pound now says the 26-year-old and 27-year-old arrested at the scene of the shooting and were later let go, had nothing to do with the incident.

Pound says his killing was the result of a drug deal gone wrong.

Investigators say tips from the public led investigators to Antonsen.
