Young girl rescued from tree and raccoons

By

ABBOTSFORD (NEWS1130) – The Abbotsford Fire Rescue Service is being credited with diffusing a situation between a young girl and a group of raccoons.

Crews received a report of a girl trapped in a tree on Mill Lake Road and when they arrived they found the 12-year-old roughly three metres from the ground.

She was sharing the tree with a family of raccoons, but she felt trapped because every time she tried to get down from the tree, they would hiss and growl at her.

The raccoons finally ran further up the tree when a ladder was placed against it.

Firefighters were then able to help the girl down safely and uninjured.
