VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – The Vancouver Canucks will be looking to hire a new Director of Player Development with Dave Gagner leaving the team to join the Orr Hockey Group player agency in the same capacity.

Gagner took the position with the Canucks in 2008, and has been primarily responsible for working on the professional development of the team’s drafted and young players.

Before joining Vancouver, Gagner spent two years as an assistant coach with the Ontario Hockey League’s London Knights.  Gagner’s 15-year NHL playing career included stops with seven teams, ending with the Canucks in the 1998-99 season.  He finished with 719 points in 946 NHL regular season games.

The Canucks young prospects are in Penticton for the Young Stars Classic this week. Their first game is Thursday against San Jose.
