Rogers reports wireless service outage across country, company website down

By

TORONTO – Telecom giant Rogers Communications (TSX:RCI.B) says its wireless voice and text messaging services are “fully restored” after a major outage across the country.

Spokeswoman Jennifer Kett says in an email that Rogers continues to investigate the root cause of the problem and apologizes to its customers.

The company’s data services did not appear to be affected by the outage.

Kett said earlier that customers with wireless carrier Fido, Rogers’ lower-priced label, were also affected.

Rogers has about 10 million wireless customers across Canada.
