Police searching for convicted sex offender

By

SURREY (NEWS1130) – A convicted sex offender who has been the subject of numerous public warnings in recent years is again wanted by police.  23-year-old Jeffrey Allan Goddard has a history of targeting children and Surrey Mounties say he has breached his probation order.

Goddard is described as white with brown hair and green eyes.  He’s 5’9″ and 150 lbs.  His current whereabouts are unknown and police are asking the public to be on the lookout for him.  Investigators say it is likely Goddard is still somewhere in Metro Vancouver or the Fraser Valley.

Goddard’s history includes convictions for Invitation to Sexual Touching and Communicating via computer to lure children under the age of 16.  He has also been known to use social media as part of his pattern of predatory behaviour.  In the past, he has posed as a police officer offering ride-along opportunities, a member of a band offering free swag or money to appear in music videos, and a landscaper.

Police say Goddard typically targets boys and girls between the ages of 12 and 17, though most of his victims are boys.  He is considered an “untreated sexual offender.”  Police are concerned that his recent known behaviour indicates that he is “back in a crime cycle.”  In other words, he is thought to be a high risk to offend against children.

If you see Mr. Goddard, call 911 right away.  Surrey RCMP is warning the public not to approach him.
