VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – It’s a busy weekend for the local sports teams.

CFL

The BC Lions continue to prepare for Sunday’s western semi-final tilt against the Saskatchewan Roughriders. The Lions lost two of their three games against the Roughriders this season.

Lions Coach Mike Benevides won’t decide on who will start as his team’s quarterback until Saturday. Travis Lulay continues to recover from a separated shoulder, although he did play last Friday. If Lulay isn’t healthy enough to play, Buck Pierce will get the start.

November in Saskatchewan is anything but warm; game time temperature on Sunday is expected to be around -3 degrees.

NHL

The Canucks wrap up its four game road swing with back-to-back games this weekend. After beating San Jose for the first time in over two seasons, the team will be in tough against Los Angeles and Anaheim.

On Saturday, Vancouver will play the Kings. It will be the first meeting of the season between the two division rivals. Los Angeles has ten wins on the season and trails the Canucks by four points in the standings. Puck drop is at 7 p.m.

On Sunday, the Canucks wrap up its Pacific Division road trip next to Disneyland. The Anaheim Ducks are the league’s best team with a 13-3-1 record. Ryan Getzlaf and Corey Perry continue to make their case as to why they should make the Canadian Olympic hockey team. The lead the Ducks with 18 and 17 points each. The game time on Sunday is at 5 p.m.

WHL

The Vancouver Giants host the Prince George Cougars at the Pacific Coliseum on Saturday Night. The two teams are near the basement of the Western Conference. They have seven win each and they have both played twenty games this season. The Giants have won six of their last 10 games. Defenceman Brett Kulak leads Vancouver in scoring with 20 points. Puck drop is 7 p.m.
