TORONTO – Some of the most active companies traded Thursday on the Toronto Stock Exchange and the TSX Venture Exchange:

Toronto Stock Exchange (13,431.38 up 60.72 points):

Barrick Gold Corp. (TSX:ABX). Miner. Down 13 cents, or 0.68 per cent, at $18.93 on 5.79 million shares.

Bombardier Inc. (TSX:BBD.B). Plane and train maker. Down three cents, or 0.66 per cent, at $4.54 on 4.92 million shares.

Goldcorp. (TSX:G). Miner. Up 61 cents, or 2.41 per cent, at $25.90 on 4.76 million shares.

Air Canada (TSX:AC.B). Airline. Down six cents, or 0.86 per cent, at $6.90 on 4.32 million shares. The stock slipped after five consecutive increases spurred by strong third-quarter results released last week.

Kinross Gold Corp. (TSX:K). Miner. Up 20 cents, or 3.85 per cent, at $5.40 on 4.29 million shares. The Toronto-based miner has raised its 2013 production guidance to between 2.6 million and 2.65 million gold equivalent ounces after positing adjusted quarterly earnings Wednesday that, while down sharply from last year, met analyst expectations.

Toronto Venture Exchange (931.63 up 5.75 points):

Source Exploration Corp. (TSXV:SOP). Metals and mining. Up 3.5 cents, or 87.50 per cent, at 7.5 cents on 5.84 million shares.

Madalena Energy Inc. (TSXV:MVN). Oil and gas. Down 4.5 cents, or 8.82 per cent, at 46.5 cents on 5.24 million shares.

Companies reporting major news:

CGI Group (TSX:GIB.A). Information technology. Up $1.62, or 4.31 per cent, at $39.24 on 3.71 million shares. The Montreal-based company posted results showing it earned $141 million or 44 cents per share in the fourth quarter, versus net loss of $168 million or 58 cents per share in the same year-earlier period. Revenue totalled $2.46 billion, up from $1.61 billion.

Finning International Inc. (TSX:FTT). Heavy equipment. Up 69 cents, or 2.94 per cent, at $24.14 on 354,235 shares. The world’s largest Caterpillar dealer booked third-quarter profits of $86.2 million or 50 cents per share, up from $81.2 million or 47 cents per share in the same period a year ago. It generated revenue of $1.78 billion compared with $1.59 billion.

Power Corp. of Canada (TSX:POW). Diversified holding company. Up seven cents, or 0.22 per cent, at $31.27 on 483,807 shares. Third-quarter earnings improved despite lower contributions from its subsidiaries. Power said net earnings attributable to shareholders were $206 million or 45 cents per share, up from $200 million or 43 cents per share. Contributions from subsidiaries dropped to $267 million from $295 million.

Turquoise Hill Resources (TSX:TRQ). Miner. Down 36 cents, or 7.78 per cent, at $4.27 on 1.18 million shares. The miner suspended work on development of its premier project, the copper mine at Oyu Tolgoi in Mongolia after the government said financing for the project would require parliamentary approval. The company said talks with the government were continuing.
