VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – Canucks GM Mike Gillis has signed backup goalie Eddie Lack to a two-year, $2.3-million extension.

The 25-year-old Swede made his NHL debut on October 6th against the Calgary Flames. He stopped 32 shots in that game to earn his first career win.

Lack, who is 6’5″ and 196 lbs, was first signed by Vancouver as a free agent on April 6, 2010. He could have become a restricted free agent this summer.

In five appearances this season, Lack has a 2-2-0 record and his save percentage is .911.

Before landing in Vancouver full-time, Lack played three seasons with the Canucks’ American Hockey League affiliates: the Manitoba Moose and Chicago Wolves. In his first AHL season with the Moose, he was named to the AHL All-Rookie team.
