A list of ICBC-rejected vanity plates

By

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – Sorry DR MEAT,  your vanity plate has been rejected by ICBC. You, too GUN NUT!

Just for kicks, the Canadian Taxpayers Federation requested the list of plates rejected by the province’s public auto insurer under Freedom of Information laws.

They got it — all 2,194 rejects, including SUX2BU, HOT24-7, BEER ME, STOLEN, WHIP ME and CARGSM.

There are a few reasons ICBC rejects a vanity plate; it could be suggestive, offensive, or speed or alcohol-related. However, that doesn’t explain the rejection of four different spellings of SPARKY.

LMAO, 666 666, LAR DAS (say it fast) and (for some reason) MR CHIPS, OBOPLYR and HAMSTER were all deemed inappropriate.

LDYRYDE and JUNKBOY also failed to make the cut, along with a whole bunch of oh-so-clever combinations including the number 69.

Here’s a tip: if you’re applying for vanity plate MOFO-69-24-7-4U, it exceeds the six character limit. It ain’t gonna fit… sparky.
