Scammer selling home alarms making the rounds in Surrey

SURREY (NEWS1130) – Check those credentials if someone comes up to your home offering to sell you an alarm system.
RCMP say there’s a fake salesperson making the rounds.
Karen Reid Sidhu with the Surrey Crime Prevention Society says RCMP told them about a scammer using their name. “There’s a female in Surrey who is impersonating us, going door-to-door, under the premise of selling alarm systems. Surrey Crime Prevention doesn’t sell alarm systems, we don’t sell anything door-to-door.”
She’s heard this woman has been invited in by some unsuspecting homeowners and has been asking people when they’ll be home over the holidays.
Sidhu says if someone comes to your door representing the Surrey Crime Prevention Society you should call the police.
