Bone-chilling cold in the Lower Mainland

LOWER MAINLAND (NEWS1130) – Bundle up before you head outside! It’s downright frigid.

We asked News1130 Meteorologist Russ Lacate how cold it’s going to get.

“It’s funny, it’s not even about how low the temperature goes; it’s just how fast you’ll feel the cold as you step outside your door this morning,” he tells us.

“We’ve got that swirling, dry Arctic breeze and the windchills are dipping to -10 in the city centre this morning and -15 in the Fraser Valley. We’ll have a few clouds early on and then it should be gorgeous and sunny this afternoon. The high’s around plus 2.”

“Tonight, I have to say it looks windier and colder; the low is -7 with windchills of -15 to -20 tonight,” he warns.

“We have a brilliant sunny day tomorrow. But Wednesday’s high is only zero,” adds Lacate.
