No Olympic flame at Jack Poole Plaza

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – The Olympic Cauldron was a focal point four years ago during the Vancouver Games, but don’t bother looking for the Olympic spirit at Jack Poole Plaza right now.
While the Olympic flame in Calgary is burning brightly, our is not.
In an email to News1130, the Vancouver Trade and Convention Centre says it all comes down to dollars and cents.
It claims no one was willing to pay for fuel, so it’s being bathed with red lights instead.
The cost of keeping the flame lit for up to four hours is $6,400.
