Abby Police still looking for answers in Sham Brar’s death

ABBOTSFORD (NEWS1130) – It has been a year since a woman was found dead at the side of Riverside Road in Abbotsford and police are no closer to finding out how she died.

They aren’t even enitrely sure if she was killed in a hit and run.

Shaminderjeet (Sham) Brar’s injuries are consistent with being struck by a car, says Constable Ian MacDonald.

“It remains, probably, our lead theory. But we don’t have enough answers, don’t have enough information to be definitive about that. We know that she was severely injured and was thrown into a partially water-filled ditch.”

He tells us tips in the case have run dry.

“We would like to know about Sham’s activities [in the] 24 hours preceding the discovery of her body because we still think that that could shed some light and open up some investigative avenues for us.”

The 34-year-old’s family is still in mourning.

“We cannot provide answers to either the community or the family; that’s something that we’re hoping to remedy by, hopefully, getting some more tips on the one-year anniversary,” adds MacDonald.
