VPD looking for suspect car linked to homicide

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – Vancouver Police now believe the two suspects involved in Monday night’s homicide in Coal Harbour were in the area a couple of hours before shots rang out.

Sergeant Randy Fincham is asking anyone who may have seen a suspicious car parked on West Cordova near Thurlow Street, to give them a call.

“This is one of those cases where no detail is too small and it’s when we put all these details together that we can get an accurate picture of what took place.”

He says they are still in the process of reviewing all the surveillance footage in the area.  “We think there is a possibility that somebody out there might have seen a group of men sitting in a car at Cordova and Thurlow Street, or in that area, that did appear suspicious and any information that those witnesses can provide to the police will definitely be beneficial.”

Two men were shot while sitting in a car.  Twenty-nine-year-old Tejinder Singh Malli of Richmond eventually died of his injuries.

The two are known to police and are associated with gangs and connected to the drug trade.

If you have any information about this case or if you saw anything suspicious between 9 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. on March 10th, you’re asked to call the VPD Major Crime Section at 604.717.2500 or CrimeStoppers at 1.800.222.8477.
