Mounties say Harper family not involved in weekend medical call to PM’s home

OTTAWA – The Mounties say paramedics were called to the prime minister’s official residence on the weekend in response to a medical call.
Reports say on Saturday night, Ottawa’s emergency services were summoned to 24 Sussex Drive to treat an 18-year-old woman who was intoxicated.
The woman, who has not been identified, was reportedly taken to hospital with a suspected case of alcohol poisoning.
The RCMP, who are responsible for protecting Prime Minister Stephen Harper and his family, say it was not a police matter.
And they confirm that the incident did not involve anyone in the Harper family.
The legal drinking age in Ontario is 19.
Ottawa police say they did not respond to the call and the Prime Minister’s Office declined to comment.
