OTTAWA (NEWS1130) – The Mounties say paramedics were called to the prime minister’s official residence on the weekend in response to a medical call.
Reports say on Saturday night, Ottawa’s emergency services were summoned to 24 Sussex Drive to treat an 18-year-old woman who was intoxicated.
The woman, who has not been identified, was reportedly taken to hospital with a suspected case of alcohol poisoning.
The RCMP, who are responsible for protecting Prime Minister Stephen Harper and his family, say it was not a police matter.
And they confirm that the incident did not involve anyone in the Harper family.
