VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – Little Italy is getting a lot bigger on Sunday when Italian Day is held on Commercial Drive.
Organizer Carmen D’Onofrio expects 300,000 people to pack onto the Drive between noon and eight.
This year’s theme is “Made in Italy.”
“We’re asking people to embrace the Italian culture and celebrate the contributions the Italians have made over the years,” he says.
He says Italian Day transforms the Drive. “It’s already a vibrant street, Commercial Drive. It becomes Vancouver’s own Little Italy.”
D’Onofrio says the event is the biggest event of its kind outside of Italy.
This year, Italy’s ambassador to Canada is also attending.
