The Whitecaps try to get back on track against Toronto FC tonight

TORONTO (NEWS1130) – It’s a rare weekday game for the Vancouver Whitecaps tonight in Toronto. The Caps will be in tough against TFC. Toronto has only lost one of eight matches since mid-May.

It is the third meeting of the season for the two clubs. The teams previously met in the in the semi-final of the Canadian Championship in May. Toronto advanced to the final following victories in both games.

The Caps will have to contend with Toronto’s Jermain Defoe who has been terrific in his inaugural campaign with the club. Last game he scored twice in a 4-2 Toronto victory.

Vancouver is looking to rebound tonight following a disappointing 3-1 loss to Chivas USA at BC Place last Saturday.

The Whitecaps scored the opening goal before surrendering three second half tallies. Vancouver was down to ten men after Jordan Harvey was sent off in the 69th minute with a red card.

Kick off is at 5 p.m..
