VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – There’s concern about drug dealing at a homeless camp set up in downtown Abbotsford.

Constable Ian MacDonald says there have been a number of public safety issues regarding the camp, “A number of individuals have reported that handguns, long guns, knives, bear spray has been used as part of that drug dealing and drug enforcement.”

MacDonald adds BC Housing and other groups are doing what they can to help.

“What we are hoping is that people who are interested in transitioning will either get that help immediately or will at least be put on the the path to getting that assistance and certainly looks like the resources are there and available.

BC Hydro has ordered them off the property on Gladys Avenue by July 31st and police say the homeless will be forced to relocate if they don’t leave.
