SURREY (NEWS1130) – Homicide investigators are taking over the case following a stabbing in Surrey.

It happened around 5 a.m. near a needle exchange at 106 Avenue and 135A Street.

There’s no word yet on any arrests.

The man killed was Donald Williams Deweyn, 63, who died in hospital.

One business owner says this is nothing new. “My daily routine, I come out to the shop to clean up the surroundings first before I even open up the doors, but also there’s a lot of people migrating and staying around here all day long and all year long.”

He says things have improved during the 12 years he has operated his business, but he says there will always be some level of crime in the neighbourhood.

Anyone with information is asked to call IHIT at 1-877-551-4448.
