CARSON, CA (NEWS1130) – David Ousted made four saves to record a clean sheet for Vancouver as the Whitecaps tied Chivas USA 0-0. Ousted has recorded seven shutouts this season for the ‘Caps.

It was the third and final meeting of the season between the teams. Chivas is the last-place team in the Western Conference, but the Whitecaps managed just two points out of the three matches.

Dan Kennedy turned aside all three of Vancouver’s shots to earn the clean sheet for Chivas.

The Whitecaps (7W-4L-12D) remain in the fifth and final playoff spot in the West, and move within a single point of fourth place LA Galaxy. Vancouver is just two points ahead of Portland, and three up on Colorado.

Vancouver will return to the StubHub Center again next weekend. They’ll take on the Galaxy on Saturday in a crucial meeting for playoff positioning.
