Deadmau5 sniffs out another feud, this time with R&B singer Trey Songz

TORONTO – Deadmau5 has sniffed out yet another feud.

The outspoken Niagara Falls, Ont., electronic producer initiated a multi-tweet rant against R&B singer Trey Songz on Monday.

The 33-year-old, whose real name is Joel Zimmerman, tweeted at Songz with a link to the singer’s recent Nicki Minaj collaboration “Touchin, Lovin,” and the commentary: “Really dude? Like … why?”

Deadmau5 subsequently tweeted at fellow electronic guru Calvin Harris, “I’m mad.”

That led fans to suspect Deadmau5 was pointing out a resemblance between Songz’ new track and Harris’s 2009 single, “I’m Not Alone.”

Harris tweeted back, telling the Canuck “don’t be mad,” adding that “a lot of time passed.”

Of course, that was after Deadmau5’s profanity-laced tirade.

“Why can’t these … pop acts just rip off ‘Sandstorm’ or something?” he tweeted to his 2.92 million followers.

“What’s this guy worth? A million or two? Even if I had no … talent whatsoever, bet I could find a … kid to ‘make a beat’ for $500,” he added.

Songz didn’t immediately respond to the rant.

Deadmau5 has previously been publicly critical of artists including Justin Bieber, Madonna and Lady Gaga.
