TI Corp hopes all 10 lanes of Port Mann Bridge will be open this winter

By

SURREY (NEWS1130) – It could be December before all 10-lanes on the new Port Mann Bridge are open to traffic.

Greg Johnson with TI Corp, which runs the crossing, says crews still have to paint lines and finish paving.

“What’s happened is that the gantry crane has just been dismantled and removed from the south side of the Port Mann Bridge… what it’s done is it’s lifted and placed all the pre-cask concrete segments that are required to finish the bridge out to its final 10-lane width.”

“A lot of the finishing work that we have to do… needs dry weather to take place. And we’re heading into the fall. We’ll have a better idea of the schedule once we’re through the summer construction season.”

Meantime, starting September 1st, TReO will combine billing for customers paying for their Golden Ears and Port Mann tolls.
