Calgary-shot drama ‘Fargo’ wins Emmy Award for best miniseries

LOS ANGELES, Calif. – The Calgary-shot “Fargo” has landed the Emmy Award for this year’s best miniseries.
The FX drama, inspired by the 1996 Coen brothers film, boasted an all-star cast headed by Billy Bob Thornton and Martin Freeman. It will return next season with a new ensemble.
Its rivals for best miniseries were “American Horror Story: Coven” (FX), “Bonnie & Clyde” (Lifetime), “Luther” (BBC America), “Treme” (HBO) and “The White Queen” (Starz).
A number of Canadians worked on the production, which airs on FXX Canada.
It was nominated for a total of 18 Emmys.
