VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – The CEO at the centre of an animal cruelty investigation in Vancouver has been placed on indefinite probation by his company, Centreplate Inc.

As a condition of his continues employment with the company, Des Hague will personally donate $100,000 US to the Sade Foundation in honour of the dog in the video. The company also wants him to do 1000 hours of community service with an organization protecting animals.

The footage shows the man repeatedly kicking a one-year-old Doberman in the elevator of the residences at the Hotel Georgia and then picking the dog up by the leash.

Centreplate, which supplies concessions to sports stadiums around North America, says it it no way condones the mistreatment of animals and it will also contribute a portion of its sales to the Safe Foundation.

Hague could still be charged in Vancouver but at this point nothing has been laid.
