Charges laid in alleged sexual assault of nine-year-old girl in Surrey

SURREY (NEWS1130) – Charges have been laid against a 23-year-old man after police say a nine-year-old girl was sexually assaulted last week.
The arrest happened on Thursday at the same park that police say the girl was taken to the night before near 99 Avenue and 128th Street.
Supt. Trent Rolf is crediting the victim for helping lead to an arrest. “Just her inner strength, the way she was able to describe the events, the detail that allowed our investigators to go seek out those pieces of evidence.”
The two don’t know one another, but Donovan Adams has had run-ins with police throughout the Lower Mainland.
Video surveillance from neighbours also helped police with their investigation.
