Canucks road trip wraps up in Colorado

COLORADO (NEWS1130) – The Vancouver Canucks will try and conclude their road trip on a winning note this evening in the Mile High City. The Canucks are in Colorado to take on the Avalanche. Vancouver is coming off an impressive victory last night against the St. Louis Blues.

The Avalanche have struggled to start the season with only one win in their first seven games. Head Coach Patrick Roy says his team is close to turning it around.

“I like our effort. Our effort is there. We are in every game. We are close but there is nothing wrong with going through some adversity at this time,” says the goaltending legend. “Winning will bring a lot of confidence. If you win a game it is going to help the team. At the same time you want to play well. You want to start doing things the right way. We have been practicing well and we are on the right path.”

Colorado defenceman and Victoria native Tyson Barrie says he is not happy with the Avalanche’s performance so far.

“Losing is not acceptable and we are not happy. As soon as losing is acceptable then you get in trouble. We are pushing in the right direction and we want to win. This is our job, we are all professionals and we want to win every night. We will not be satisfied until we do.”

The puck drops at 6 p.m.. You can watch it on Sportsnet One. Listen to News1130 for game updates every 10 minutes on the fives.
