VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – Goaltender Ryan Miller posted his 300th NHL career win as the Canucks beat the Carolina Hurricanes 4-1 at Rogers Arena.

Brad Richardson’s two goals led Vancouver, with his second going into an empty net in the final minute of play. Linden Vey and Jannik Hansen also scored for the Canucks.

Henrik Sedin and Radim Vrbata extended their point streaks to five games.

Jiri Tlusty replied for the Hurricanes on an assist from captain Eric Staal, who returned after missing five games with an upper-body injury.

The Canucks posted their third win in four games, while the Hurricanes remained winless through their first eight games of the season.

Miller made 29 saves in his milestone win and summed up what the number 300 now means to him. “It means I’ve been playing a while. It feels good. It’s a collection of a lot of good teams, good players over the years. I’ll take a little time to reflect because winning’s fun and I’ve gotten to do it quite a bit with some good guys. I’ll try to enjoy this win with this group because it feels good.”

The Canucks will host the Montreal Canadiens Thursday night.
