VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – Daniel Sedin scored on a powerplay in overtime to lift the Vancouver Canucks to a 3-2 win over the Montreal Canadiens at Rogers Arena. With the result, the Canucks swept their three-game homestand.

The Canucks built up a 2-0 lead as Nick Bonino scored his fourth goal of the season on a two-on-one in the second period, and then Brad Richardson tallied his third goal in the past two games early in the third.

The Habs got back into the game with a goal from Alex Galchenyuk with just under eight minutes to play. Galchenyuk deflected PK Subban’s point shot to finally beat Ryan Miller.

Montreal pulled even with just 2:33 remaining on the clock. A loose puck found its way to former Canuck Dale Weise, who tapped it over to Max Pacioretty for the equalizer.

Tom Gilbert took an interference penalty for Montreal early in the extra period. With just five seconds left on the man-advantage, captain Henrik Sedin sent his brother in for the game-winner. Daniel received the pass, made one move, and beat Carey Price for his 11th career overtime winner.

Miller made 23 stops to improve to 7-1 to begin his first season in Vancouver. The Canucks are 7-3-0 through their first 10 games. Vancouver beat Washington and Carolina to open its three-game homestand and then finished it off with the victory over Montreal.

The Canucks return to action on Saturday with a visit to Edmonton to face the Oilers.
