VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – A terrifying ordeal for a Vancouver woman has left her emotionally distraught.

The 22-year-old has told police a man tried to abduct her last night.

She says she was walking along Prince Albert Street near 10th Avenue at around 8 o’clock when a man grabbed her, dragged her to a older dark green van and hit her over the head.

Sgt. Randy Fincham says she was able to fight the man off and was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

“He’s white, we believe he’s in his 30s and about six feet tall, we believe he was wearing a dark hoodie and gloves.”

Fincham says police searched the area but came up empty handed.

He adds investigators are working to figure out if this was a targeted attack.

If you have any information, call the Vancouver Sex Crimes Unit at (604) 717-0600 or Crime Stoppers at 1 (800) 222-8477.
