Charges laid in January death in Surrey

SURREY (NEWS1130) – A 33-year-old man has been charged with second degree murder in the death of a man found in a vehicle back in January.

Tarsem ‘Shane’ Singh Dhaliwal, 35, was reported missing by his family to the Surrey RCMP. On January 21, 2014 his body was found in the area of 189 Street and 92 Avenue.

The Integrated Homicide Investigation team says evidence quickly led them to believe Dhaliwal had been met with foul play and had been targeted.

“As a result of the dedication and commitment displayed by the IHIT investigators, 33 year old Randeep Singh Match has been arrested and charged with second degree murder,” says Staff Sergeant Jennifer Pound.

Match was arrested in Abbotsford on Wednesday without incident.

IHIT is not commenting on a motive because the case is now before the courts but the victim and accused did know each other.
