Canucks face Dallas tonight trying to snap their four game losing streak

By

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – The Canucks will try and snap their four game losing streak tonight when they host the Dallas Stars.

Vancouver should be rested up after a three day break. In a bit of a surprising move, Eddie Lack will start in net for Vancouver.

“It is really important we start strong. We have a few losses in a row now and we are really going to come out as a resilient team tonight and we are going to see a great effort from everyone,” says Lack. “I have been feeling pretty good lately and seeing the puck well. I have been feeling good in practice and tonight is going to be fun.”

The Stars have a high flying offence, but have really struggled on the blue line. The Canucks will try and expose their weaknesses, while also keeping tabs on Tyler Seguin. The 22-year old leads the NHL with 38 points in 29 games.

“You have to keep an eye on him at all times,” says Lack. “We were watching powerplay clips of them this morning and obviously he is a very skilled player, with a very good shot, so he is one of those guys you have to keep an eye on whenever he is on the ice.”

Chris Tanev says the Canucks defensemen know they have to be ready to battle against the budding superstar.

“We know how fast he is and he is a great shooter. He is not the only one. They have some really good players, so whoever you are against, you have to be aware of what is going on. You don’t want to take too many chances when those guys are on the ice.”

In their one previous meeting this season, the Stars jumped to a 5-0 lead and eventually topped the Canucks 6-3 in Texas.

The puck drops at 7 p.m.. You can watch it on Sportsnet Pacific. Listen for game updates every 10 minutes on the fives.
