AGASSIZ (NEWS1130) – A rockslide has shut down eastbound Highway 1 at Agassiz.
Robert Maylor is with Emil Anderson Maintenance says the rocks came down before 9 a.m. today.
“They went right across both lanes. Now, it’s just a matter of geo-tech coming to check everything out. Just as a precaution… we’re closing it down,” he tells us.
There is no estimated time of re-opening.
Drivers will need to use the Lougheed Highway as an alternate route.
