Vancouver begins five-game road trip against Nashville

NASHVILLE (NEWS1130) – The Canucks have embarked on a five game road trip that begins in Nashville and will take them through to the all-star break. Vancouver will be in tough against a very good Predators team this evening. Nashville is the best home team in the NHL this season.

Daniel Sedin says the Canucks will have to play well to snap the Predators five-game home winning streak.

“They have a deep lineup and a good offense. They have a good back end and their goalie has played great so it is going to be a tough game. When we played them at home, it was a tight match up and tonight should be the same.”

The Predators success this season is a bit of a surprise, but it probably shouldn’t be with Shea Weber patrolling the blueline, and Pekka Rinne in net. Alex Burrows acknowledges that Rinne is a world class goalie.

“He is so big and so good. If he see’s the puck, he is going to mostly stop it. He is one of those goalies that likes to catch everything, so you have to get in for rebounds and screens and tips and hopefully get a bounce your way.”

Eddie Lack will get the start in net for the Canucks because Ryan Miller is still under the weather. Lack says he is ready for the challenge.

“I have kind of been preparing for it. I kind of knew there was a possibility of me starting. Even if I am not starting I am always trying to prepare myself as best as possible and it is another big opportunity for me tonight.”

In their lone meeting this season, the Canucks lost to Nashville 3-1 on November 2nd at Rogers Arena.

The puck drops at 5 p.m. You can watch it on Sportsnet Pacific. Listen for game updates every 10 minutes on the fives.
