VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – Rainfall is causing a headache for the operators of Mt. Seymour.
The mountain is running on a standby basis.
There are no runs open as constant rainfall over Metro Vancouver has drenched the region.
Simon Whitehead with Mt. Seymour says it’s been a difficult season.
“We still have snow but it has rained pretty hard. We are just looking to wait out this weather pattern and then we’ll look at the runs and see what we have and how to move forward.”
He says crews have been doing what they can, but this latest bout of wet weather was just too much. “On the mountain we’ve been snow farming wherever we can, so there’s been a lot of shoveling and a lot of piling snow on the runs.”
Whitehead says they hope to have some runs open in the next day or so.
