VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – We are less than a week away from the Super Bowl and it seems the NFL has become a pretty big draw here in Vancouver.
An online survey has found just under half of people in BC plan on watching the game and a third of men say the bigger the screen, the more they’ll enjoy it.
“This is probably as big, particularly in Vancouver, as the Stanley Cup Final that the Canucks were in. This is huge,” says Ian Tostenson with the BC Restaurant & Foodservices Association, who adds there are 10,000 Seahawk season ticket holders from our province alone.
The Seattle Seahawks take on the New England Patriots on Sunday.
“Every bar and restaurant that has a good TV screen will be totally into the Super Bowl. I checked some places — White Spot, Tap and Barrel, Romers — they are all geared up to be full and I would suggest that if you are going to go out that you make a reservation because it’s going to be a big big Sunday.”
The survey from RetailMeNot.ca found the Super Bowl is so popular, it receives the largest viewing audience of the season, with more people spending their money on alcohol than food.
