New separated lanes near Port Mann Bridge

By

SURREY (NEWS1130) – Highway 1 westbound drivers are advised to watch for changes and follow signs as they approach the Port Mann Bridge.

A new traffic pattern change as of early Saturday morning means drivers have a choice at the 152 Street interchange, go right or stay straight. Drivers are being asked to follow the signs and choose the correct lane.

All lanes rejoin at the Port Mann Bridge, but drivers heading for Coquitlam should use the right-hand lanes to avoid changing lanes on the bridge.

What to expect:

  • Highway 1 westbound is separated into two streams between 152 Street and the start of the Port Mann Bridge
  • Drivers using Exit 44 for Coquitlam should keep right of the barrier
  • Trucks and slower moving vehicles are also asked to keep to the right
  • 152 Street westbound on-ramp traffic will be behind a barrier until the start of the Port Mann Bridge
