Vancouver renews the rivalry against the Boston Bruins

By

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – The Canucks (30-20-3) play Milan Lucic and the Bruins (28-19-7) this evening. It has been nearly four years since the heated Stanley Cup final between the two teams, but you can expect the bad feelings towards each other will be re-ignited tonight.

Daniel Sedin is on a bit of a hot streak with four goals in his last six games. He expects the game to be heated.

“We need everyone at the start of the game being ready and playing hard. When we roll four lines we can’t have one line that is off. It will ruin games for us. We are starting to realize that, but it still needs to be better.”

The Bruins were red hot in January, but are only 1-3 in their last four games. Coach Willie Desjardins says you can throw the stats out the window, because Boston always comes to play.

“It’s not like if you play good you are automatically guaranteed a win, because you are not. Boston is a very good team. We can only worry about us and play hard. We have to find away to be more consistent and hopefully tonight is the first step.”

Ryan Miller will get the start in net for the Canucks. It will be his 600th NHL game.

The injuries are mounting for the Canucks. Nick Bonino, Brad Richardson, Kevin Bieksa and Frank Corrado will not play with various ailments.

The puck drops at 7 p.m.. You can watch it on Sportsnet Pacific. Listen for game updates every 10 minutes on the fives.
