The Canucks east coast road swing continues against the New Jersey Devils

By

NEW JERSEY (NEWS1130) – The team plays Cory Schneider and the Devils (22-26-9) this evening. The Canucks (33-21-3) are coming off a 5-4 shootout win against the Rangers yesterday.

Daniel and Henrik Sedin looked dominant again in the win, and that presents a problem for the Devils tonight. New Jersey Head Coach Lou Lamoriello says his team has to contain them both.

“The two have a tremendous chemistry with each other. They are two of the elite players in the league, but you have to do the best you can, like everyone else who has talent.”

Scoring has been the shortcoming of the Devils this season. The team’s leading scorer is Adam Henrique and Jaromir Jagr and they only have 29 points. Lamoriello says he doesn’t know why his team is struggling to score, but they need to find an answer.

“I think if we had that answer, we would maybe have some solutions. I think we are getting opportunities and we just have to take advantage of them.”

Eddie Lack is expected to get the start in net and Zack Kassian will likely be a healthy scratch for a second game in a row.

The puck drops at 4 p.m. You can watch it on Sportsnet Pacific. Listen for game updates every 10 minutes on the fives.
