SURREY (NEWS1130) – An investigation that has taken Mounties in Surrey two years to complete has led to a significant drug bust.

Thirteen people are facing drug and weapons charges, including Sophon Sek, who was charged in connection with the Surrey Six case.

Sek is among eight people police have arrested. Five are still at large.

“These seizures… and the evidence gained and charges secured by the targeted enforcement of this Surrey-based crime group will serve to significantly disrupt this trafficking operation and demand public safety in the city of Surrey,” says Inspector Wade Lymburner

Eight search warrants were executed, in which drugs, money and guns were seized. The seizures included heroin, cocaine, oxycodone and two automatic sub-machine guns.

Mona Khodabandehloo and Lester Ray of Burnaby; Glen Hudson, Andres Naranjo, Sonny Nguyen, Francis Le, Harjoot Garg and Daniel Cluett of Surrey; Yaeil Jang of Port Coquitlam; and Dylan Herman of Delta also face charges including trafficking and possession of controlled drugs.

Two minors have also been charged.
