Radio parody outlines dire future if ‘No’ side of transportation plebiscite wins

By

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – The group ThisSucksYVR, which brought us a witty viral video promoting a “Yes” vote in the transportation plebiscite — are at it again, putting together a satirical traffic report in a future where the “No” side comes out victorious.

“It is just a flaming hellscape of neverending suckitude as far as I can see,” opens the traffic reporter in the parody.

That “suckitude” includes a three sailing wait for the SeaBus both ways, blocks-long lineups at major bus stops — complete with fistfights — and SkyTrains so stuffed with people, every seat is occupied.

The report ends with a sponsorship mention from the “Pattullo Preservation Society,” asking drivers to send back pieces of the bridge that may have fallen on vehicles.

The original video from ThisSucksYVR managed to attract over 36,000 views.
