The Canucks are playoff bound

By

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – With the Los Angeles Kings losing to the Edmonton Oilers Tuesday night, the Canucks have clinched a 2014-15 playoff spot.  The defending champion Kings are unable to catch Vancouver in the standings.

The Kings could miss the post season entirely if they lose to the Flames on Thursday in Calgary. The Canucks have two more regular season games to play, hosting the Coyotes on Thursday and the Oilers Saturday.

This is a better feeling for fans given Vancouver missed the post season last spring after a brutal year under then coach John Tortorella. President Trevor Linden and GM Jim Benning made it their goal to make the post season while trying to rebuild at the same time. So far so good.
