What do the Canucks need to do to avoid going down 3-1 in the series tonight?

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – It’s not sudden death, but it’s the next closest thing.

The Canucks face the Flames on the road tonight, trying to even up their first-round playoff series at two wins apiece. Vancouver needs to be ready, if they want to avoid going down 3-1 in the first-round series.

Weathering the first 10 minutes is key, especially on the road.

“Physically, the Flames are pounding them,” says Rick Dhaliwal in the News1130 Sports Centre. “They’ve got that home ice; they’ve got the crowd. They’ve got a very physical team… Michael Ferland was driving the Canucks nuts in Game 3. He had nine hits and he’s getting under their skin. The composure and discipline — two big keys tonight.”

“[The Flames] are going to forecheck like hell; three of their goals Monday night were the result of a very strong forecheck making the Canucks turn over the puck,” adds Dhaliwal.

Don’t expect any lineup changes, but do expect the Sedins perhaps see a little more ice as the team tries to ensure they won’t face elimination by the time they returns home on Thursday.
