Many moms and dads aren’t getting their due

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – Apparently a lot of Canadians aren’t exactly in a giving mood ahead of Mother’s Day and Father’s Day.

A new survey suggests many of us won’t be buying a gift for mom this year — and poor dad fares even worse.

More than 20 per cent of Canadians asked say they are not purchasing anything for their mom next Sunday.

We lavish even less on dad, with almost a third saying they won’t be getting a gift for him on Father’s Day!

And the in-laws fare even worse. More than half of Canadians surveyed spend more on their own parents than they do on their partner’s.

Kids, the survey also reveals that moms get more upset than dads do if you forget their special day.

Moms and dads, if you are keeping score — and we know you do — the survey finds daughters make a bigger deal out of both days than sons.

We know who “the favourite” is.
